Step 3 Our Future Gives Us Strength In the Lord.

Know this! One day all of the pain and suffering will be over. The glory of God will one day stand forth and in a new creation and wipe away all evil and all pain and all sorrow and all fear and all guilt. Everything we gave up and suffered in faith doing what God has called us to will be repaid 100 fold.

Romans 8:32 says, “He who did not spare his only Son, but gave him up for us all, will freely give us all things with him”

All that God owns will be the inheritance of his children for their everlasting enjoyment. We can strengthened by know our future.

Part 2- Hope Gives Us Strength In the Lord.

Last week we talked about joy. Today, we will discover that hope gives us strength. I am always amazed with believers who have hope. They are filled with joy living in an expectation that God is going to come through at the right time. They are filled with hope. And it is not just for answered prayer for the things we need today, but hope in the eternal future. Believers who are strong in the Lord have a sense of eternity, that life is more than the here and now. And they are filled with joy about the future. Some of this joy comes from what we have now… forgiveness of sin, fellowship with God, purposeful lives, worship, fellowship and all of the good things we have in the Lord. But as good as all these outer things are, our outer nature is wasting away. (2 Corinthians 4:16). The bible clearly says that in this life, we are can be afflicted in every way, perplexed, persecuted and struck down, (2 Corinthians 4:8-9) as we who have the Spirit “groan inwardly as we wait for adoption, the redemption of our bodies” (Romans 8:23). Our unwavering joy comes from having “hope”. And this hope is in not what is seen, but what is unseen.

Romans 8:24-25 (NIV) For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.” So we can become strong in the Lord by rejoicing in hope!

Romans 12:12. Take a moment this week to pray and think about our heavenly home.
